Missy Elliott is gearing up to release her first album in three years. Tentatively titled "Block Party" and due in September, the release is the follow-up to 2005's "The Cookbook."

Tracks on the new album, Elliott's seventh, include the drum-heavy "Hip-Hop Don't Die"; the sensual "Milk & Cookies," on which Elliot lightheartedly harmonizes about her capabilities in the bedroom; and first single "Best Best."

An eight-song preview of rapper Missy Elliott's upcoming seventh album last night (March 11) reveals that it is shaping up to be a feast of Elliott's trademark eclectic beats mixed with tinges of '70s Washington D.C. go-go funk. Featuring production by Timbaland, Souldiggaz, Danjahandz, Timbaland and Point Guard, the Goldmind/Atlantic Records album -- which is due in late May and set to be titled by fans -- includes first single "Best, Best," in which Elliott, repeating the last word to every sentence throughout, rhymes, "We fuss fuss / we fight fight / we make up by the end of the night night." Missy is giving YOU the opportunity to name her new album, due out on Goldmind/Atlantic late Spring 2008. Fans can enter immediately via Missy's website, www.missy-elliott.com . The contest closes on February 20th and the winner will be announced on March 2nd. The winner will receive credit on Missy's new album and a $500 'Respect Me' adidas gift card.

Fans have already gotten a sneak peek of what Elliott has been up to with "Ching-A-Ling," a new song which, along with Elliott's "Shake Your Pom Pom," will appear on both the "STEP UP 2 THE STREETS – ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK" (due out today, February 5th) as well as on Elliott's forthcoming 7th studio album (due out Spring 2008). "STEP UP 2 THE STREETS – ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK" is the musical companion to the upcoming Touchstone Pictures dance film of the same name. The film is slated for a 5 day – Valentine's to President's Day – opening weekend beginning in theatres nationwide on Thursday, February 14th.
